I for one must make a note here and say that I love Clyde!!! Can I get one too please?! Moriarty - or Morey for short.Īnd she even gets herself a little pet that makes even Morey's feathers stand on end at the introduction. 'You've sent me a blue tit murdering creationist with sarcasm management issues.' - Mr. She's getting an associate to help her out: Unfortunately, this is exactly what Reverend Penny must do. 'Meddle not in the affairs of dragons', I muttered, 'for you are crunchy when fried and good with ketchup.' And if you're not cracking a smile by now while reading the Vicar-gryphon snarky banter, I guarantee the drunk snail shark hiccuping and singing will do the trick! And she didn't even need to know the language the snail was speaking to realize that he was swearing. And if she was still harboring any doubts regarding it's credibility, they all went up in a big puff when she had to accept the help of a snarky gryphon to catch a sharp toothed snail shark the size of a dog. If Penny didn't fully believe the Bishop's tale, the fox in uniform delivering her letter of application was a solid point in favor. Lloegyr is as multi-cultural as England.' 'There is a parallel world of dragons and unicorns and bears, oh my, and they're Christians-' And to put the cherry on the incredulity cake, the Bishop's assistant was another dragon, while her archdeacons were a unicorn and a vampire. The Bishop of Eglwys Lloegyr under whom she was being assigned was a dragon. What Penny found hard to believe however and kept listening to with the incredulity of one waiting for the hidden camera to pop out. She is appointed as part-time Vicar General of Incursions in Eglwys Lloegyr, the equivalent of England in that other world we mentioned above. a dragon! The Temptation of Dragons by Chrys Cymri

The point to observe here is that although hypertension may not be necessary, it is as widespread as the common cold. It is the result of ignorance, of bad management of our vital economy. However, it is not a necessary and inescapable price. Hypertension is the price we pay for the symphonies of Beethoven, the novels of Balzac, the advances in medical knowledge that prevent children dying of smallpox. And if the inhabitants of some Amazon village are ‘closer to nature’ than New Yorkers, this is usually at the cost of dirt and ignorance and inconvenience. The farm labourer going to work is as likely to ignore his surroundings as the harassed car salesman. It is a disease of consciousness-that is, of being human. In this episode, JF and Phil discuss Wilson's concept of Faculty X as elaborated in his monumental 1971 work, The Occult.ĭavid Benatar, Better Never to Have Been: The Harm of Coming Into Existence For Wilson, magic isn't the living fossil the arch-rationalists would like it to be, but a 'science of the future.' Faculty X is an evolutionary power, innately positive, inseparable from the will to live and the unshakeable conviction that, somehow, this world has some real, ineffable meaning. At its simplest, what Colin Wilson calls Faculty X is 'simply that latent power in human beings possess to reach beyond the present.' Yet its existence is evinced in all those phenomena that modernity files under 'supernatural' or 'occult.' As difficult to explain as it is impossible to omit from any honest survey of human existence, the occult haunts the modern, not just as a vestige of the past but also, perhaps, as a promise from a time to come.
